#PURPLYWORKSHOP
A hands-on workshop designed to teach you how to navigate in the world of fabric, fashion and tradition. Following the legacy of Japanese kimono studios called "kimono-ya" 着物屋, we try to continue spreading of the craft and its future in the modern world. The workshop started in 2022 in response to the overflow and low quality of clothing and fabric in stores. Since then, the workshop has been organised 20 times in the five different cities: Prague ~ Brno ~ Tábor. Then abroad in Bratislava and in Petrer, Spain. So far it has involved more than 160 participants, including more than 20 small entrepreneurs and brands from the fashion world.

IS IT FOR ME TOO?
Indeed it is a workshop, meaning hands-on time spent learning how to get to know the fabrics. You have the opportunity to touch the samples on site and see what they look like and how they behave under stress.
The workshop is therefore suitable for...
1.
PUBLIC
For all fashion lovers who are interested in navigating the fashion shops more effectively. These people care about what they have in their wardrobe at home, and what they wear every day. They want to make conscious purchases and take good care of their garments to last longer and make them feel good.
2.
PEOPLE FROM THE INDUSTRY
For owners of small fashion brands, seamstresses, and stylists, but also for those who are tempted by the idea of becoming a fashion designer. The workshop is also ideal for training staff and salespeople in fashion stores.
The involvement of both groups in one workshop creates a lively and interesting dialogue between the participants.
If you are interested and would like to organize the workshop to your private group of people, please contact us directly.
It is certainly also possible to run the workshop in English and outside the Czech Republic.

WHO LEADS IT?
My name is Veronika Balson and I am the co-owner of PURPLY Kimono.
Ever since I was a kid I have been fascinated with textures, surfaces and materials. It all started to make perfect sense when I first discovered the world of fabric. My interest, eventually thanks to a few knowledgeable people from industry, grew into this hands-on workshop that connects right people at the right time and place. Its purpose is also to make Czech suppliers, manufacturers, and small local brands visible to local and foreign consumers.
